Mr. Nasr Hussein
Chairman of the Board
Mr. Nasr Hussein has assumed the Chairman of the Board position since 2020. He brings on board a wealth of over 40 years of experience in the banking Industry.
Mr. Nasr Hussein has also assumed several leading roles within his outstanding tenure with the Arab African International Bank AAIB including – but not limited to – the Assistant Vice Chairman and Managing Director role, the Chairman of the AAIB Pension Fund, Head of Financial Sector, Head of Operations as well as Head of Administration and Engineering.
During his tenure with the AAIB, Mr. Nasr has led many successful projects and initiatives that contributed extensively to the growth of the organization including the merge and acquisition of Misr America International Bank by AAIB. In his earlier capacity as the AAIB Banking Systems Migration Project Director, he has successfully led the Temenos T24 banking system migration project .
Mr. Nasr Hussein has also assumed the Chairman role of the Universal Investment Company besides being a Board of Directors member in some of the prominent organizations in Egypt.
Mr. Amr Esmat
CEO and Managing Director
Mr. Esmat is a seasoned IT executive who brings on board a wealth of over 30 years of experience in providing innovative IT solutions globally across Egypt, Middle East and Africa, and USA. Throughout his career, he has assumed several leading roles in both multinational and regional IT service providers such as NCR, SUN Microsystems, Oracle, and Summit to name a few.
Mr. Esmat has assumed the role of WAVZ CEO and Managing Director since 2021. Since then, and under his leadership, WAVZ has doubled the revenue turnover year over year and have soared in terms of profit and return on investment.
A believer that customer satisfaction roots grow out of the organization commitment to world-class business ethics, Mr. Esmat has created a business environment that encourages productivity and innovation, and promotes trust, integrity and candour across all organization levels.
Mr. Khaled El Attar
Board Member
Mr. El Attar is leading Egypt’s digital transformation as the Vice Minister for Digital Transformation, Automation and Administrative Development at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) since June 2018. He is also holding the position of the Head of IT Infrastructure Sector at MCIT since 2015.
Mr. El Attar has more than 35 years of experience in the field of informatics, supervising more than 150 projects in this field in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Germany and USA. He has held multiple managerial positions at IBM for 28 years, as well as Raya, and worked as a lecturer at Cairo University.
He supervises the implementation of development and modernization initiatives and projects using IT to improve the level of automated services provided to citizens in partnership with the country’s various agencies and institutions.
Mr. El Attar has a Bachelor’s degree in engineering with honors, and a Master’s degree in business administration from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), in addition to a Master’s degree in research at the University of Liverpool.
He is currently pursuing a PhD in change management at Liverpool University.
Mr. Hisham Serry
Board Member
Mr. Serry brings on board over 40 years of experience in the IT industry & human capital development.
He has held several managerial and executive positions in some prominent IT organizations like NCR, AT&T, Oracle, EMC² across the Middle East region. He is the Founder and Managing Partner of KCC Egypt, an organization focused on organizational culture transformation.
Mr. Serry has been a Board Member since 2017. He has also held several Board Member positions in some giant organizations in Egypt like Egypt Post, and TE Data, to name a few.
His vast experience and know how in the IT industry and human capital development has made some of the prominent CEOs in Egypt seek his consultancy services.
Mr. Mohamed Megahed
Board Member
Mr. Megahed has been a non-executive Board Member since 2020.
He brings on board a wealth of over 40 years of experience in the banking sector.
Being a seasoned C-level executive, he has significantly contributed to the success and growth of several joint venture and foreign banks such as EAB, Arab Bank, ADIB, NBAD, and FAB.
Prior to retirement, he assumed the position of the Regional Chief Operating Officer for Egypt and Sudan, First Abu Dhabi Bank, where he led the banking operations, information technology, project management, policies and procedures, business support, engineering, and security.
Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim
Board Member
Mr. Ibrahim has been appointed as a Board Member in 2020. He brings on board a wealth of over 37 years of experience in the financial industry. He is currently the Head of Financial Affairs at the National Postal Authority (Egypt Post).
During his tenure with Egypt Post, he assumed several leading roles within the financial sector of the organization. Mr. Ibrahim graduated from the Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration, Helwan University in 1987.
Mr. Amr Mahfouz
Board Member
Mr. Mahfouz has been appointed as a Board Member in 2023.
He is a seasoned visionary transformation leader who brings on board a wealth of over 35 years of experience in strategic planning, technology integration, business development, and organizational transformation in multiple industries across both the public and private sectors.
Mr. Mahfouz is the CEO of El-Delta Electronic Systems and worked as a Senior Advisor for the Economic Governance Activity project with the USAID where he is helping them to address the digital transformation project of the Egyptian Government.
Besides being a valued Board Member of WAVZ, he is also a Board Member of Raya CX Company , an Egyptian leading customer experience company.
In July 2020, Mr. Mahfouz was named the CEO of Egypt’s Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA).
He also held the positions of Assistant Minister for Growth and Development at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), Chairman Of Digital Egypt, Member Of the Board Of Etisalat Egypt, and Smart Village of Egypt.
Mr. Mahfouz has led a number of strategic projects and key presidential initiatives nationwide that strongly cemented Egypt’s position on the global ICT map and contributed to promoting Egypt’s IT sector in key markets.
Mr. Mahfouz holds a B.Sc. in Engineering from Cairo University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands.
Mr. Omar Khattab
Board Member
Mr. Khattab has been appointed as a Board Member in 2023.
He brings on board over 34 years of experience in the financial industry.
He is the Chairman of the Arab African Investment Holding Co. (AAIH).
He is also the Chairman of the Arab African Int’l Securities, the investment arm of the well-known Arab African Int’l bank (AAIB), as well as being the Chairman of the Egyptian Company for Metallic Constructions (Metalco).
In addition to the above, Mr. Khattab is also a Board Member at the Egyptian Ferro Alloys Company, The Chemical Industries Holding Company, as well as being a Board Member of Egypt post, and the Head of the Investment Committee.
Mr. Khattab is also the President of the Egyptian Financial Markets Association (ACI-Egypt), which is a non-profit organization for the dealers and treasurers at the financial sector.
Mr. Khattab holds a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Commerce, Cairo University, and an MBA in Banking and Finance from the Arab Academy for Science & Maritime Transportation.
Dr. Noha Adly
Board Member
Dr. Adly is the Advisor to the Minister of Communication & Information Technology for R&D and the R&D director of the Applied Innovation Center.
She is also a Professor of Computer & Systems Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University. She has obtained her PhD in Computer Science from Cambridge University, UK in 1995.
She has served in several positions since 1988 locally and abroad. Dr. Adly served as Head of ICT sector at Bibliotheca Alexandrina for more than 20 years, where she was responsible for the BA’s overall ICT strategy & the design and implementation of its digital initiatives.
She was appointed as First Deputy to the Minister of Communications & Information Technology From 2013 to 2016. She is author/co-author of more than 60 publications in peer reviewed journals and scientific conferences.
